Welcome to our website! Epping Forest HF Group are a group of walkers of all ages (from 18 to 80+) who get together most Sundays and public holidays to explore different parts of Epping Forest, the surrounding countryside, Central and Greater London. We started in 1938 and 2008 is our 70th year. The EFHFG is affiliated to the national Ramblers Association -   www.ramblers.org.uk We don't walk too fast - though unkind critics have sometimes suggested we talk too much! - and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.   Walking is a pleasant and healthy pursuit, a relatively painless form of exercise and not too exhausting for this Group because, as everyone knows, "there are no hills in Essex”.  Walking is a way of becoming more closely acquainted with the wonderful woods and countryside in our part of the world and a way of appreciating the history and development of London. New members - and new ideas - are always very welcome. For all members, social evenings, twice yearly coach outings and holiday weeks are offered. If you chose not to walk, or are unable to, then the other activities may be of interest to you.
